First of all, let me give you a general idea of what baseboards are. Skirting line, as the name suggests, refers to the wall position obtained by kicking, decorated with linear shapes.
The main functions of baseboards are:
(1) Protect the cleanliness of the wall surface, as this area is prone to being kicked or splashed with dirty water from mops during cleaning;
(2) Aesthetic decorative function, can be used to cover the gaps between tiles, wooden floors, and walls;
(3) It can also protect the expansion joints between the wooden floor and the wall from being filled with garbage.
There are generally three types of baseboards in the market: pure solid wood baseboards, PVC baseboards, and composite baseboards.
Pure solid wood baseboards are relatively expensive, but their patterns are beautiful and natural, making them the best choice to showcase the owner's taste; PVC baseboard is a new type of substitute for solid wood baseboard, which can present a realistic wood grain effect, and is lightweight, cost-effective, environmentally friendly and healthy, occupying a large market share; Composite skirting line, also known as density board skirting line, is made of fiberboard with multiple colors and is easy to match with the floor. It does not require high flatness of the wall, but attention should be paid to moisture prevention.
There are three ways to match the color of baseboards
(1) Similarity method: Choosing a skirting line that is similar in color to the paved wooden floor can better reflect the overall integrity of the space, and it is beautiful and generous, with a natural and neat overall appearance.
(2) Contrast method: Choose a skirting line with a significant color difference from the paved wooden floor, such as light and dark colors, which can better highlight the color hierarchy, achieve spatial segmentation effect, and appear clean and neat.

(3) Consistent with door frames: This matching method focuses on reflecting the unity of the living room style. The color of the door frames and baseboards is consistent, which will better reflect the beauty of the lines and make the entire living room more harmonious and unified.
